Does my child need sedation or general anesthesia for their dental care?

Our office uses nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for many children to make them less anxious and more comfortable during their procedure, some children need nothing at all other than local anesthesia. Sometimes for the safety of the child or the extent of dental disease, we will recommend general anesthesia at the hospital, with Dr. Shenkin doing the dentistry and an anesthesiologist conducting the anesthesia. We can discuss these options with you at your first appointment.
