How often does my child need to get x-rays taken?

It all depends upon their risk. The American Dental Association has established guidelines for the frequency of x-rays in children. For children with active dental disease, we will want to make radiographs every 6-12 months. For those with no dental disease, we will want to make radiographs every 12-24 months.
